If these resolutions don't match there is a conversion (upscale or downscale) between the two. It is my understanding that, unlike the ps5, the xbox series x supports 1440p as the output "to the screen". WebJan 17, 2024 · This is true, but, IF you must downscale, it is better to do it by a factor of 2. ie. 4K downscales to 1080P reasonably well, much better than it does to 1440P. Same way that a 1080P monitor can use DSR to render at 4K and have the result look pretty decent, but if rendering 1440P downscaled to 1080P instead it often looks quite bad.

Scaling up as much as you want just to scale it down to 1440p just makes no sense, you can gain some quality by upscaling 2x mainly in the aliasing department, 4x maybe a tiny bit more but beyond that would be pointless, hence it not … WebOverall, this is a substantial monitor and still one of the best choices for ultrawide 1440p gaming, with its glossy finish, solid-feeling premium design and very decent max refresh rate. It has a better pixel density than larger 1440p 21:9 ultrawides, and a very respectable three year warranty.
