In this case, as you already have made a private group you can invite your friends to join it. You can ask for the specific open group or/and the possibility to have the open group setting on our feature suggestion board.

I have gone through all the necessary procedures: log out, uninstalled, deleted app, turn off cell, soft & hard reboots, deleted recently activity, cache, cookies, reinstalled etc. on all my iOS devices are updated and still there is no difference.
