WebMar 15, 2024 · The Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad (reporting marks, CORP) can trace its history back to the mid-1990s when then Southern Pacific was looking to shed several hundred miles of its system in western Oregon. One of these routes was known as the Siskiyou Line, once the SP's original main line through the state. However, due to WebOregon & Northwestern started life as the Malhuer Railroad in 1923. In 1930 it was operating a 50 mile railroad all the way to Seneca and had changed names to Oregon & Northwestern. In Seneca, the line connected to the Edward Hines Lumber Co. lines running eastward.
